The purpose of the Hanover Cheerleading Program is to provide a safe and positive program that offers both competitive and noncompetitive cheerleading for the residents of Hanover.
Sideline Cheer is offered to grades 1-8. Participants will be placed on a team of 25 girls, divided into the following non-competitive teams:
Mighty Mites : grades 1 - 2
Mites : grades 3 - 4
Pee Wees : grades 5 - 6
Midgets : grades 7 - 8
Team fulfillment is on a first come first serve basis. Remaining participants will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which they registered.
All teams will cheer at weekly games, both home and away as well as regular and postseason. Practices will begin the week of August 15th. Coaches will access the skill set and ability of each team and determine how often they practice .
Registration is open for 3 weeks at the base rate of $125.00. There will be a one week late registration period if there is room on the teams. There will be an additional $35.00 fee added to all late registrations.
Competition Cheer is offered to grades 3 - 8 and divided into the following competitive teams:
Mites : grades 3-4
Pee Wees : grades 5-6
Midgets : grades 7-8
All participants must try-out in order to make a competitive team. Participants will be judged in several different categories and receive scores based on their skill set and level of ability. Those with the highest scores will be placed on a competitive team with 2 alternates. Practices will begin in September in preparation for the 3 competitions in November.
* Girls MUST be able to SAFELY execute all jumps and stunts in order to make a competitive team as safety is our number one priority!
All girls must participate in Sideline Cheerleading in order to be considered for the Competition Team.
Dates for Competition Tryouts is tentatively set for Wednesday June 26th.

We are always looking for coaches and assistants for all teams. Anyone with cheer experience who would like to coach can email Valerie or Maura with a short description of their cheer experience. All volunteers selected to help coach must fill out an HYAA Cori prior to working with the girls.
