For the 2018 Summer Season, we plan on entering teams in the Suburban, South River, Friendship and Braintree All-star Summer Baseball leagues described below.  Game schedules for these leagues are determined by league organizers and are not controlled by HYAA. The start and end dates for the summer seasons can vary by age group and remain subject to change until final schedules are released by each League.

Please refer to the “Age Eligibility” section of this document for information regarding the teams on which your child may be eligible to play on.

Player Registration Information

·      For all teams where players are required to try out, players will be asked to register online in the HYAA system and submit payment only after teams have been selected and announced If the player’s registration and payment are not completed by the stated deadline, the player may lose their roster spot.

·      For the Hanover In-Town Summer League, online registration will be opening on the HYAA website in early June.

·      Coaches for all summer leagues will be asked to complete an on-line coach’s registration and CORI Form.

South River League

*    We plan on entering four teams into the South River League, one each at the 9, 10, 11 and 12 year-old levels.  The South River League has indicated that it is looking into potentially restructuring some of the divisions to be more competitive – we will evaluate the impact of any proposed changes and place our teams accordingly. The South River League is the less competitive league in our Summer Travel offerings.

*    Please note that the final number of teams entered into the South River League will depend both on the number of players who attend tryouts and the number of parents who volunteer to coach these teams.

*   The level of commitment required for South River baseball is similar to Suburban baseball, but the level of competition is lower.

*    Rosters for South River teams will be comprised of 12-14 players selected during tryouts.

*    Teams play a 10-game schedule that runs from late June through the end of July, followed by playoffs.  We are awaiting more information from League Organizers regarding the dates of the season and playoffs for each age group – this information likely will not be available until early to mid-June.

*   Teams may play in one tournament that runs over a weekend.  Tournaments will be selected by the coaching staff of each team.

*    The number of practices that each team will have per week will be determined by the coaching staff, but you should expect at least one practice per week.

*   The expectation is that players will participate  in most games and practices.
*   Total cost per player for the South River teams will be $150

 Suburban Travel League

*    Suburban League baseball offers the highest level of competition for players in the Majors and Minors age groups.

Hanover is entering teams into the 9, 10, 11, and 12 year-old Suburban Leagues.

We have returned to Little League for the 2018 season.  The 12s Suburban team will be entered into the Williamsport Tournament.  Additionally, our 9s, 10s, and 11s teams will be entered in the Little League Tournament for their respective age groups.

*   Suburban team rosters will be comprised of 12-13 players selected during tryouts.

*   Suburban teams play a 10-game schedule that runs from late June through the end of July, followed by playoffs.  We are awaiting additional information from league organizers regarding season start dates.

*   Suburban teams may also play in one additional tournament that runs over a weekend. Tournaments will be selected by the coaching staff of each team.

*   The number of practices that each team will have per week will be determined by the coaching staff, but you should expect at least one practice per week.

*   The expectation is that players will participate in most games and practices.

*   Total cost per player for the Suburban teams wil lbe $150

Kids not playing in town spring baseball are not allowed to participate in travel baseball.
No Exceptions will be made!

Hanover In-Town Summer League

*    This league is a continuation of the in-town spring league and is available to all players in the Minors and Majors divisions (9-12-year olds).

*     The level of commitment will be far less than Suburban and South River.

*     Teams will typically play 2 games per week, with the goal of playing 8 games.

*    Coaches may conduct optional practices that may be combined across multiple teams.

Rosters will be larger to accommodate players who miss games for vacations or other reasons.

There will be no tryouts for this league.

Total cost will be $100 per player.

Players trying out for Suburban and South River baseball who are not selected for those teams will have the option to register to play in the Hanover In-Town Summer League.

*    The age range for players included on these teams will depend on player registrations.

*    Our ability to run this league is dependent on both the number of players that register and the number of parents that volunteer to coach.  We cannot run this program without coaches!

*    Our goal is to start this league during the first full week of July.

Friendship League

*    The Friendship League is a travel league for 8-year old ball players this is a great opportunity for young ball players to get exposed to summer travel baseball.

*    Friendship League teams play an 8-game schedule that typically runs from late June through the end of July, followed by playoffs.  We are still awaiting more information from League Organizers regarding the dates of the season and playoffs.

*    This is real baseball with a strong emphasis on learning to play the game correctly.

The roster will be comprised of 12 - 15 players selected during tryouts.

*    Total cost per player is $150.
